When we surf the Internet, we read faster . We just scan the texts . We often skip entire paragraphs with our eyes, and if the text does not interest us, we simply click on the red cross in the upper right. The Internet is an extremely disruptive environment. There are many things competing for our attention at the same time, which leads to a high level of stress. So that we don’t go completely crazy, our brains have to filter it somehow. And they focus much less on reading itself.
Therefore, it is much more difficult to attract and keep the attention of the reader on the Internet . What follows from this? Online writing requires a different approach.
