Conduct Website Content Analysis Against These 5 Things with Data from Google Analytics

After creating and distributing content, how do you know whether the content is satisfying your readers and giving you positive results?

Most beginner content marketers don’t care about this.

So they keep creating content that doesn’t produce positive results. This means your time and money will be wasted.

This is the importance of content analysis.

By using real data, you can process it into actions that you can take immediately to increase traffic, conversions, and sales.

Preparation before starting

To get data from websites and content, there are several tools that can be used. One of the best and free is Google Analytics .

This is a “must have” tool for online marketers, make sure you install it.

If you haven’t already, read Google’s official guide to installing Analytics on your website .

For WordPress users, you can use the Google Analytics by Yoast plugin to make the process easier.

When you first install it, your data is still empty. So you may need 3-5 days to collect data before you can do the analysis in this guide.

What will you learn here?

Google Analytics will help us collect data in the form of numbers and percentages.

But this alone is not enough.

Looking at numbers doesn’t tell us what to do. Our job is to translate this data into something actionable.

That’s what we’re going to learn.

Turn data from Google Analytics into information for decision making

The function of Google Analytics is more than just analyzing content, but in this guide we will only discuss this one area.

1. Popular (and unpopular) content

This is the most basic information you should know. But don’t just assume but base it on the Analytics that we installed earlier.

The way to do this is by going to the Behavior > Site Content > All Pages menu.

(For those of you who use Indonesian, please adjust)

After this, the order of your content that gets the most visits will be displayed.

What can be done?

First to make content planning. In the data from the PanduanIM website, it turns out that there are 3 out of 10 popular contents about SEO, 2 content marketing, and 2 blogging.

So we can see what readers like.

From this, I can decide that in the future, content with this topic will be increased.

Second, to increase sales, registrations, and the like.

You can edit popular content and add elements of product/service sales.

For example,  if I provide SEO services, then in this online shop SEO content  I can offer more specific services, namely SEO services for online shops.

By doing this the number of sales will increase.

2. Which content makes visitors leave?

The biggest reason someone leaves your website is because they are dissatisfied with the content.
